Inspired by photographic archives, each painting reveals itself as a cinematic framing of the white city of the '50s. From the top of the city, to the Casbah and the port, everything is finely drawn: architecture, scenes of life, street scenes, labor, aesthetics, the blazing sun and the cool shade.
This exhibition is a sensitive and captivating illustrated documentary journey; we plunge into a piece of history through the eye and precise line of the artist.
