AURORE PETIT

Aurore Petit is an author-illustrator. She graduated from the School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg and has lived and worked in Paris since 2006. She regularly publishes drawings in the press, with an offbeat tone and often surrealist images.
In addition, she develops a work in children's literature, either in collaboration with authors, or as an author and illustrator. Her main publishers are Actes Sud Junior and Les Fourmis Rouges.
The series exhibited at the Slow Galerie brings together images first published as press drawings in the magazine "Clés". The drawings are thought in reaction to texts by Catherine Charrier, Florence Servan-Schreiber, Roger Pol-Droit and Marc de Smedt. The authors evoke societal, human and relational themes via a philosophical angle. After publication, Aurore Petit gives a new life to these images by printing them in silkscreen. The drawings are enlarged and are meant to stand on their own.
