AMANDINE DELAUNAY

Amandine Delaunay is an illustrator and art director born in 1988 and living in Paris.

Passionate about old engravings, naturalist plates and fairy tales, her images oscillate between scientific precision and dreamlike visions. Curious and enthusiastic, her influences range from Gustave Doré, Maurice Sendak, and Tommy Ungerer, to William Morris, and Penelope Bagieu.

Amandine had the joy of being invited by Editions de la Martinière to illustrate the documentary album Le Livre de la NUIT written by Claire Fait. An educational and poetic book, which explores the multiple facets of this time that follows the day, this infinite starry sky, this darkness full of mysteries, fears and stories.

The NIGHT series is extracted from this documentary, entirely hand-drawn, mixing the precision of the black pen with the fluidity of the sapphire blue watercolor ink.
