ALOÏS MARIGNANE

Originally from Provence, Aloïs Marignane now lives in Tours. In his studio a stone's throw from Place Plumereau, Aloïs often paints towns, their midday atmosphere, the inhabitants strolling along the canals, in the middle of squares, gardens and crossroads. There's a touch of Pagnol's sunshine, sometimes a form of minimalism or, on the contrary, an infinite amount of detail and, above all, an abundance of colours drawn, no doubt by resonance, from the cuisine of his father's restaurant based a stone's throw from Marseille. He mainly paints with extra-fine gouache, French or Japanese, on thick, careful 100% cotton paper to guarantee the longevity of his creations.
